Who may benifit from Colix...
- Babies with colic caused by transient lactase deficiency
In the first few months of life babies may cry for a variety of reasons including hunger, thirst, under-stimulation, over-stimulation and of course pain. Sometimes they cry with no obvious cause for their discomfort – this may be a sign of colic. New research indicates that the symptoms of infantile colic may be caused by the temporary inability to digest lactose.
WHAT WILL COLIX DO FOR YOUR BABY?
COLIX infant drops contains lactase enzyme. Research has shown that undigested lactose is broken down by bacteria in the colon releasing gases such as hydrogen and carbon dioxide. The liberation of these gases may cause the colonic distension and bloating often referred to as colic.
The enzyme in COLIX infant drops breaks down the milk sugar (lactose) into the two sugars, glucose and galactose, which are readily absorbed into the bloodstream thus preventing the build up of gases in the colon.
WHAT MAKES COLIX infant drops DIFFERENT?
Established treatment options work by using antispasmodics to treat the pain causing the colic or by treating the gas caused by the fermentation of lactose. COLIX infant drops works by aiding in the digestion of the lactose in the milk itself. The idea behind this technology is to treat the cause instead of treating the colic itself.
HOW IS COLIX ADMINISTERED?
COLIX infant drops are added to the milk or formula before feeding. In the case of breastfed babies, the Colix infant drops are added to a small amount of expressed breastmilk (10ml) which is administered to your baby before breastfeeding is continued as normal.
